About the team
The Northwest Ohio Arctic Wolves Sled Hockey team started in August of 2014. We are a 501c3 organization under Ohio Sled Hockey.
Sled hockey is the same as stand up ice hockey, but is for people with physical disabilities that prevent them from being able to stand and play. A sled and 2 short sticks with picks are used to propel the player on the ice. Sled hockey is a paralympic sport and in 2014, our USA Men’s National team took the gold in Sochi.
Anyone from age 5 and up, who has a physical disability is welcome to join our team. We practice on Sunday from 10-11am at the BGSU Arena. Our season starts in September and goes through mid April. We are competitive and travel to tournaments in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New York and Canada.
